Terms and Conditions – Semi-Couture Dresses
Our Semi-Couture range is tailored exclusively for you and made to order upon the signing of our contract. Once the order is placed with our supplier, cancellations are not permissible, and payments become non-refundable. If a deposit option has been agreed upon, the balance must be settled within 7 days of the items arriving in-store.
All payments are non-transferable to other customers or goods, in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act 1979. It is your responsibility to inspect all items at each stage of the transaction: upon arrival in-store, during the first fitting, when the item leaves the store, and upon return.
Our designers estimate a timeline for delivery, and it is essential to be prepared for early arrivals. If a deposit contract has been agreed upon, the balance for your dress is due within 7 days of its arrival.
Semi Couture Dresses with special measurements, such as shorter or longer lengths, may be subject to a surcharge. This will be added to your order if known at the time; otherwise, it will be included in your final balance.
Upon the arrival of your dress in-store, it undergoes rigorous quality control. You will be contacted to schedule a fitting within 7 days. The first fitting is recommended 6 to 10 weeks before the event. For fittings, it is essential that you bring appropriate undergarments and accessories to ensure the dress mirrors its intended look on the special day. Alison Tod cannot be held responsible if a dress does not fit due to changes in body shape, medication, or any other reason.
In the case of a cancelled order, the item must be paid for in full and collected within 2 weeks. Unclaimed items will incur storage charges of £10 per item per month. Adequate insurance is advised.
Terms and Conditions of Sale – Occasional Dresses
Our Occasional Dresses, distinct from our Semi Couture range, are not made to measure and require no alterations for a perfect fit. Your stylist will take measurements and advise on the best size.
Although we do not have an in-house seamstress, alterations can be conducted by our preferred seamstress at additional cost, if required.
Terms and Conditions – Third-party Accessories
Accessories not purchased at Alison Tod can be tried on at your fitting appointments, but please note this is at your own risk. Alison Tod will not accept responsibility for any damage caused to third-party accessories during this process.
Terms and Conditions – Photography and Filming Policy
To uphold the integrity of our designs and in accordance with copyright laws, photography or filming is strictly prohibited within our boutique. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation in respecting the exclusive nature of our collections.
Terms and Conditions – Storage and Insurance Charge
At the point of purchase, a fee of £40 is added to cover storage and insurance for your cherished item. This ensures the safekeeping of your purchase until you are ready to collect it. However, should you opt to collect your item upon its arrival, the £40 fee will not apply.
